Western Mass Vipers

The Vipers were founded in 2013 to provide our kids the opportunity to play highly competitive hockey across MA, CT, and NY with the objective of preparing them for their HS seasons and beyond. We are a player and family-focused not-for-profit organization committed to competitive hockey, strong professional coaching, the development of each player and transparency to our members.  Our teams are run as financial collaboratives and we divide expenses equally among all players.  The Vipers are proud members of the Premier Hockey League of New England (PHLNE).   We complement our PHLNE league games with a strong independent schedule.

Coaching Opportunities with the Vipers

By Jim Watkins 01/10/2023, 3:00pm EST

The Vipers pride ourselves on high quality, professional coaching.  The growth of our organization has provided additional opportunities to join our staff for 2023 fall split-season. Head coaches will have extensive coaching experience at the HS, AAA, junior levels or above. Assistant coaches will have previous coaching experience or will have high-level playing experience beyond HS.  Compensation for the fall split-season is comparable to that of high school programs. Please contact Jim Watkins at for more information.

Thanks for a Successful 2022 Fall Season

By Jim Watkins 12/29/2022, 12:15pm EST

Thanks to our players and families for another successful fall season.  Our 14U, 15U, 16U and 18U teams all made the playoffs in the top division of the PHLNE.  The Vipers are the only organization in the league with a playoff team in each of those divisions.  Well done boys!   Best of luck to all in your HS seasons.  We'll see you in March for tryouts, followed by the Vipers Cup!
